How are medical courses structured

Medicine

The general medicine curriculum is designed to create the foundation for future physicians to develop medical expertise. The teaching curriculum consists of 6 years of pre-clinical and clinical research.

The pre-clinical module introduces students to the structure and functions of a normal human body. It later focuses on the formation and features of disease processes and familiarises students with basic patient examination skills.

In the clinical study module, students learn about specific disorders and improve their diagnostic and therapeutic skills.

Dentistry

The structure of the dental course is very similar to that of the medical one, except that it lasts for 5 years instead of 6 (10 semesters). The first two years are all about learning theory. In the following three years, students will be able to work with real patients.

01

Years 1-3
Students learn about the structure and functions of a normal human body in the pre-clinical module. Later, it focuses on how diseases start and what they look like, and it teaches students how to do basic patient exams.

02

Years 4-6
In the clinical study module, students learn about specific disorders and improve their skills in diagnosing and treating them.

03

Internship Year
The 6th year is also an internship year where students spend most of their time in university hospitals to help treat patients.

04

Graduation
During the sixth and final year, students take their final exams in internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, neurology, psychiatry, and pediatrics. After passing the state exams, students earn a Doctor degree.
