How are medical courses structured

Medicine

The programme lasts six years. It combines preclinical and clinical training with a one-year clinical rotation. The general and special medical disciplines are taught in connection to one another and to their logical consequences.

The training programme adheres to the contemporary standards for high-quality medical education. Experienced professors and modern facilities provide students with extensive theoretical training and help develop their practical physician skills. Students who pass the state examinations at the end of year 6 earn a Master's degree and the title of Doctor.

Dentistry

Plovdiv Medical University also offers dental education in English. The first two years are devoted to medical and biological fundamentals. Clinical training takes place in the third through fifth years of the programme. The programme ends with a 6-month internship.

Clinical training includes both pre- and post-clinical dentistry procedures. Second, third, and fourth years require internships. Graduates earn a master's degree and a globally recognised Dentist qualification.

Plovdiv is Bulgaria's second-largest city and attracts a large number of international students and tourists each year.

One of the finest things about Plovdiv is the ambience in the city centre - the Roman theatre and the city's old history provide a charming touch to the central area, where you can walk in one of Europe's longest pedestrian streets and take advantage of Bulgaria's low costs.

British students in Plovdiv prefer private accommodation to student dormitories due to the affordability. For example, a one-bedroom apartment can be rented for between £200 and £300 per month, depending on its proximity to the city centre.
